Account Information:
When you create an account, you may provide information such as your name, phone number, username, and date of birth. We use your date of birth to determine age-appropriate access to features.

Subscription & Purchase Information:
If you subscribe or make in-app purchases (such as emoji subscriptions or one-time emoji packs), payment is processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your full payment details, only confirmation of purchase status and subscription type.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data:
We collect information about how you use the App, such as:

  • Chat activity (messages and emojis sent)

  • Use of live typing visibility (on or off)

  • Feature usage (subscriptions, emoji rewards, referrals)

  • Age-based feature eligibility and restrictions

Device Information:
We may collect device type, operating system, app version, and performance or crash data to improve reliability and user experience.

Approximate Location Data:
We may collect limited, approximate location information (such as city or region level) to support certain features. This information is not precise GPS data and is not shared publicly with other users.

1.3 Messages, Emojis, and Live Typing

Chats & Emojis:
OTime enables real-time messaging and emoji sending. All text messages are end-to-end encrypted, meaning only you and the intended recipient can read the content. OTime cannot access message contents.

Live Typing Visibility:
If enabled, live typing allows the other participant to see text as it is being typed in real time. This feature is optional and can be turned on or off. Live typing content is not stored beyond message delivery.

1.4 Video & Audio (Age-Restricted)

Video & Audio Calls:
Video and audio calls are processed in real time and are not recorded or stored by OTime.

Users under the age of 18 do not have access to video lobby or random video matching features.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate core features such as chat, emojis, live typing, and subscriptions

  • Enforce age-based access restrictions

  • Manage subscriptions, trials, emoji balances, and referral rewards

  • Improve app functionality, stability, and performance

  • Personalize certain features (such as message bubble color customization for subscribed users)

  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service

  • Communicate with you about updates, support, and account-related notices

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

With Other Users:
Your username, profile details, messages, and emojis are visible to users you communicate with.

Service Providers:
We work with trusted third-party providers (such as hosting, infrastructure, analytics, and messaging services) that process data on our behalf and only as necessary to operate the App.

Legal & Safety Reasons:
We may disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect the safety, rights, or integrity of OTime and its users.

4. Data Retention

  • Account information is retained while your account is active.

  • Encrypted message content is not accessible by OTime.

  • Video and audio calls are not recorded or stored.

  • You may request account deletion at any time, after which we will delete your personal data unless legally required to retain certain information.

5. Your Choices & Safety Controls

  • Account Information: You can update your profile details at any time.

  • Live Typing: You can enable or disable live typing visibility.

  • Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account.

  • Blocking & Reporting: You can block and report other users directly within the App for violations of our Terms of Service or inappropriate behavior.

  • Account Deletion: You may delete your account through the App or by contacting us.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption and access controls. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Age Requirements & Children’s Privacy

OTime is intended for users 13 years of age and older.

  • Users under 13 are not permitted to use the App.

  • Users aged 13–17 have restricted access and cannot access video lobby or random video matching features.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If such data is identified, it will be deleted promptly.

8. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence. By using OTime, you consent to such processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify you within the App before they take effect.

10. SMS Invitations & Phone Number Use

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

SMS Invitations:
OTime allows users to invite contacts to join the App via SMS. These invitation messages are sent using a third-party messaging provider (Twilio).

How Phone Numbers Are Used:
When you choose to invite contacts by SMS:

  • The phone numbers are provided by you or selected from your device contacts

  • Phone numbers are used solely to send the invitation message

  • Phone numbers are not stored by OTime for marketing purposes

  • Phone numbers are not sold, shared, or used for any other purpose

Message Content & Delivery:
Invitation messages typically include:

  • The inviting user’s name or username

  • A link to download or join OTime

  • Clear instructions on how to opt out of future messages (e.g., replying “STOP”)

Opt-Out & Consent:

  • Invitation messages are sent only as a result of user-initiated actions

  • Recipients may opt out of receiving future messages at any time by following the opt-out instructions included in the message

  • OTime does not send recurring promotional SMS messages without recipient consent

Compliance:
SMS invitations are sent in compliance with applicable laws and carrier requirements, including U.S. A2P 10DLC regulations and Twilio messaging policies.
